Having regular sex can play a part. Staying in physical condition,(not overweight) also seems to help. Smoking isn't a real good idea anyway but it can increase your chances for prostate cancer also. I have always heard that both tomatoes and broccoli have nutrients in them that seem to be beneficial.

Leading a healthy lifestyle, including getting sufficient exercise and eating a carefully balanced diet, can help reduce the risk of developing prostate problems later in life.1. Eat plenty of fruits and vegetables – aim for five or more servings of fruits and vegetables each day.2. Stick to low-fat foods – avoid red meats, especially high-fat and processed animal products. Limit eggs and full-fat dairy products3. Vitamin E – Vitamin E reduces the risk of developing prostate cancer by up to 32 percent. Brown rice, vegetable oil, nuts and seeds are good sources of Vitamin E.
